In fact, I did fun things at night instead of huddling around books. I wrote music, hung out with church friends and orchestra friends, played tennis, and drew pictures.
FACT: Flash Cards are not the answer
After goofing off for four years, out of about 400 students, I think I ended up placing in the top 30 of them with a decent 3.8 average. My point is not that I was a superstar. My point is that I achieved more than most people because I remembered facts and figures in a SPECIAL WAY.
I'm no genius, but I wasn't stupid either.
THEN SOMETHING CHANGED. I STARTED FAILING A CLASS IN COLLEGE.....
....I WAS DEVASTATED.
I had to remember endless facts, figures, charts, and information I (frankly) didn't care about at all. (I still don't care about those facts because I never used those facts. I use new ones all the time so I needed something truly to help me for life, not just a study guide!)
I knew I needed a way to remember these things - and anything I needed - for the test and instant recall. I needed a system, badly. I NEEDED to tap whatever I had going for me in High School. I finally got remembering things for tests by using a system I built from a variety of sources:
